Noncredit Registration

The TA Web Certification Program is an introductory course that offers 12 weeks of TEL strategies and Web design instruction to all teaching assistants (TAs) who are involved in some aspect of planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, or evaluating the effective use of a course Web site, either prior to or upon completion of this training, during the academic school year.

The TA Web Program meets on Wednesdays from February 6 until April 20. Note that we do NOT meet the week of spring break!

Registration Process

Space is available for participants who use Macintosh or Windows operating systems and is limited to 18 participants per section. The course is broken up into eight class periods, and participants must be able to attend all eight. To register for the course, complete the following steps.

  1. In order to participate in the program the TA must submit a Faculty Approval Form signed by his or her faculty sponsor. Please follow this link for a printable form. Copies of the Faculty Approval Form are also available in 190 Shepherd Laboratories.
  2. Submit the completed Faculty Approval Form to 190 Shepherd Laboratories in person or fax it to (612) 625-6817. You will not be officially registered until the form is received.
  3. After your Faculty Approval Form is received you will be sent e-mail confirmation of your registration.

Alternate Multimedia Training

If you cannot participate in the program, or if you wish to receive computer training in a specific application or tool, ADCS also offers short courses in number of multimedia development areas through the University Technology Training Center (UTTC).
