I've been working at the Digital Media Center (DMC) since the summer of 2001, and at the University of Minnesota since 1995. My duties at the DMC include:
- coordinating the TEL Grant Program;
- helping to plan and teach the T.A. Web Certification Program and Digital Teaching Workshop;
- consulting with faculty members on a variety of topics, incuding blogs and wikis, digital games, learning assessment, and learning objects; and,
- teaching stand-alone short courses on communication tools, blogs and wikis, and Flash.
I have an M.A. in curriculum and instruction, Program in learning technologies from the University of Minnesota. I also have an M.A. in English literature (with an emphasis in creative writing) from the University of Maine, and a B.A. in English and honors from the University of North Dakota.
I'm also a writer. I have a blog that's mostly about books and writing here; and a novel coming out in February 2009, which you can read about (and order) here.
