Clickstream #2

Once a student has entered the X-28 case by clicking on the introductory screen, she or he is first provided with further background concerning the case in both video and text formats. Having been briefed, she or he then has the choice of selecting one of two content paths, 'Receive Your Charge' (step 1.1+, below) or 'Research the Issues' (step 1.2, below, and Clickstream #3). Although 'Receive Your Charge' consists of five subject areas ('Read the Dean's Memo,' 'Review Case Background,' 'Meet the Experts,' 'Learn About Problem Solving,' and 'Submit Your Research Outline'), for reasons of brevity we've concentrated on the latter three topics.

Red arrows indicate a direct path from first screen of this stream (Step 1.0) to the screen indicated; blue arrows indicate links to subsidiary or supplemental materials (e.g., the transcript in 1.0.1) or links to second level materials (e.g., the link to a sample 'Meet the Experts' biography in Step 1.1.1.1). Although the flow schematic below may be too large to fit -- in its entirety -- in your browser window, the depth of the material delivered on the Campus Quest CD, the dictates of readability that require us to devote a relatively large proportion of our screen real estate to captions, and the cognitive advantages of being able to visualize an entire content pathway in a single window have led us to accept the necessity of using the horizontal and vertical scrollbars to traverse the clickstream; we apologize for any inconvenience.

Clicking on a thumbnail image will open a full-size screenshot in a new window; simply click in the window's 'close' box when you are through to return to this screen. When you are finished exploring 'Clickstream #2,' simply click here to close this window.

X-28 dilemma: submit your research outline

step 1.1.3

At several points in their consideration of the X-28 case, students are requested to submit materials to the instructor for comment; the Campus Quest application is designed to enable students to either save their materials to disk for printing and hardcopy submission or submit their efforts by electronic mail.

            send material as email form

step 1.1.3.1

If a student selects 'Submit as Email,' the Campus Quest application automatically launches her or his WWW browser and opens an email form configured to deliver her or his submission to the instructor using the X-28 case in his or her course.
