This software selection chart is a guide to the different software applications available in our development facilities. We've also rated each application for ease-of-use using these symbols:

Software Access

Autodesk Cleaner

With Cleaner, you can digitize and optimize sound and video clips and batch files. You can also use it with an audio or a video editor to develop streaming Web-ready audio and video files.

Apple iDVD

You can use iDVD to create DVDs with simple navigation menus using a set of available templates and your iMovie video project.

Apple iMovie

With iMovie, you can capture, digitize, edit, and enhance video files for CD-ROM, DVD, Web, or broadcast-quality videotape delivery. You also can use it to synchronize sound tracks with video tracks; add titles, credits, or subtitles; integrate video clips with transitions, fades, and special effects; and superimpose images.

Bias Peak Pro

Sony Vegas Video

Apple Quicktime Pro

Apple's FinalCut Pro HD is an all in one video editing, compositing, and special effects package for the Macintosh.

Transana 2

Transana is a transcription and analysis tool of audio and video data.

Graphics

Software Access

Adobe Illustrator CS2

You can use Illustrator to create images from scratch using a toolbox of drawing tools. Illustrator is especially useful for creating complex graphics like charts and graphs or type with special effects. Images are vector-based, rather than pixilated (as they are when created with Photoshop), which means they are comparatively small in file size and can be resized and output on laser printers with little or no loss in quality.

Photoshop can be used to format, crop, and apply special effects to digital images and to develop images from scratch.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0

Acrobat can be used to distribute publications through the Internet by converting documents into Portable Document Files (PDF), small and easily transferred files that can be opened and printed and that maintain their appearance on almost any computer.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0

Acrobat Reader can be used to open and print PDF documents created in Acrobat.

With OmniPage and a scanner, you can turn printed documents into digital files that can be edited with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Microsoft PowerPoint

PowerPoint can be used to create professional digital slide shows that include text; clip-art; custom graphics; photos; audio and video clips; animations; and transitions. It also can be used to generate speaker notes and handouts.

UMConnect Plugin

UMConnect Plugin for PowerPoint can be used to create narrated PowerPoint presentations and publish them to a Web site for viewing over the Web.
