Digital Media Center (DMC) consultants provide for no charge advice and assistance to University of Minnesota instructors and support staff. Our consultants are available to discuss a variety of issues related to educational technology.
Consultation Topics
Our consultants can help you with many aspects of enhancing teaching and learning with technology. Turn to us for assistance with the following issues:
- teaching with technology;
- planning and designing classroom learning activities and materials, courses, and even entire curricula that make effective use of educational technologies;
- selecting media and technology;
- designing information and graphics;
- using video, graphic, audio, animation, presentation, and Web and CD-ROM development software;
- finding University resources;
- respecting and protecting intellectual property; and
- testing for usability.
Consultant Backgrounds
Our consultants have professional experience in areas such as design (instructional, information, and graphic), higher education teaching, and project management. They also have academic backgrounds in a number of disciplines and hold master's and doctoral degrees in rhetoric, science, English, and philosophy, among others.
