Digital Media Center

Office of Information Technology

Tatiana Komarova

Technology Training Consultant

I began working at the Digital Media Center as a student in August 2001, participating in Unite and Web Core programs. After graduating from the University, I joined the IT team at the College of Human Ecology where I provided WebCT support to staff and faculty. Today, I am back at the DMC (no escaping it!) as a part of the training group.

As a trainer, I teach computer graphics courses and also participate in teaching and developing curriculum for other classes. For the past 3 years, I was a member of the WebVista support team for OIT. I also joined the UMConnect group (formally Breeze), for which I am now a co-lead. My other responsibilities are designing and developing online training, consulting, and investigating new tools and effective online environments.

Background

I received two Bachelor degrees: one in Communications with a focus on media studies and film, and another in Studio Arts with a focus on electronic arts. I also have a minor in Information Technology.

Outside of work I am interested in video, 3D arts, animation, exploring new applications, and generally wasting my time online. When I am not at the computer, I enjoy house projects, eating good food, and relaxing with friends.
