At the UMC Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology we provide services including learning management systems support for faculty and students, course and course materials development, multimedia learning resource development, emerging technologies, academic software licensing, survey development, delivery, and analysis, and general faculty technology support from AV to PC. We also coordinate or deliver professional development and training workshops for faculty.
I am a member of CTIP, ATAC, and the iTunes Content Advisory Committee. I teach one course each semester including Database Management Applications, Software Engineering Approach to Human Computer Interaction, Applied Hacking and Systems Security, Operating Systems, Systems Architecture, Local Area Networks, and Introduction to Computer Technology.
I'm father to eight, aged (in 2008) 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 24, 27, and 30 so when I'm not at UMC I follow my teenagers around the country watching volleyball, football, basketball, and track meets and travel to the metro or Wisconsin to visit my adult "children", grandson, and granddog. I love the breeze through my scalp and ride my motorcycle or go top-down in the convertible in the summer. I enjoy downhill and cross country skiing in the winter. My home is in the country with a seven acre yard so mowing and blowing snow are also major activities and it seems like fixing up the house is a continuous process. I'm going to attempt to install kitchen countertops this winter.
