Kathy Olson
Manager, Training Services
As manager of technology training services at the Digital Media Center, my focus is on working with team members to provide technology related learning opportunities to faculty, staff, and students in support of their work. I enjoy the creative problem solving that goes along with helping people find the most appropriate technologies for their needs and apply them to their activities. I also enjoy the creative challenge of exploring possible delivery methods presented by new technologies as we continuously look for ways to better serve the diverse needs of the University community.
Background
I have been involved in various aspects of technology training and support on campus since 1986. I have a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology. I am a longtime member of the Professional Association for Computer Training (PACT) and also am a member of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) IT Training Group.
My personal interests include gardening and traveling. This picture of me was taken at one of the most spectacularly beautiful places on earth - Moraine Lake in Banff National Park.
